Public Speaking Experience

 

Public speaking is a critically important skill for almost every profession in today's world, yet many people harbor a fear of speaking in front of others - in fact, speaking in front of others is often ranked near the top of many people's lists of most-feared activities.  It shouldn't be that way!

Discover a new learning experience in a small group to improve your personal communication skills. Learn from an experienced and distinguished training staff with long-time professional experience in the field and within the public sector.

 

Here are some things you will master during the Public Speaking Experience:

​

• logical thinking and argumentative structure - which directly mimics the business and professional writing process

• confidence when speaking in front of others - including eye contact, posture and poise

• thinking quickly on your feet - be prepared for the questions at the end of your presentation or pitch

• speaking extemporaneously on subjects that you have not yet thoroughly researched - take the initiative and impress someone with your ability to quickly break down and analyze a new problem or opportunity at a high level

After completing this course, you should be able to:

• Plan and prepare speeches that inform, persuade, or fulfill the needs of a special occasion

• Use presentation aids to enhance your speeches

• Outline your speeches in a logical and thorough fashion

• Conduct meaningful research on a variety of topics

• Analyze your audience and design speeches to reflect your analysis

• Evaluate speeches based on a variety of verbal and non-verbal criteria

• Listen effectively, regardless of your interest in the subject matter

• Understand and explain the communication process

The Public Speaking Experience lasts 6 days a week, for a total of 24 workshops.
